Coverage
How much glitter do I actually need? ✨
(aka: the eternal glitter question)
So you want to cover your body, walls, candles, crafts (or… all of the above 😏) with glitter, but you’re staring at the jar thinking “Is this enough?”
Good news – we’ve done the messy experimenting so you don’t have to. There are three important things to consider:
1. Coverage area
We used our highly scientific method (aka playing with glitter and measuring it) to give you real-world guidance.
-
About 7cm x 15cm of forearm can be covered with ½ teaspoon of mixed glitter, with pretty decent coverage
-
Around 30cm x 30cm can be covered using 30g
Coverage will always vary depending on how dense you want that sparkle to be – sheer fairy dust or full disco realness.

2. The wastage principle
Glitter has a mind of its own. It spills, it travels, it ends up everywhere.
We recommend allowing an extra 5–10% for wastage (technical term: “damn, I spilled some again”).
3. Weight vs volume
Not all glitter is created equal.
Some colours and effects weigh more, some cuts compact more tightly – so while the weight stays the same, the physical volume you receive can look different from one glitter to another. Totally normal. Totally sparkly.
✨ When in doubt? A little extra glitter is rarely a bad decision.
