At Glitter Haven, we’re big on information sharing - because we know knowledge is power ✨ We carry that philosophy throughout the store, including the words we use.

Sometimes, however, the same words can be used differently elsewhere, which can lead to confusion. This page exists to clear things up before that happens.

TYPE: aka Range - The material the glitter is made from (Traditional Glitter, Enviro Glitter, Hydro Glitter)

SIZE: aka Pack Size - a reference for amount of glitter in your item (XS, S, M, L, XL).

'IN A': aka Vessel - the container you will receive your glitter in (Bag or Pot).

HEX: aka glitter particle - the standard shape of a glitter particle.

SHAPED: aka non-hex - any other cut of glitter with an outline different than hex.

CUT: aka Shape - the physical dimensions and outline of the glitter particles in mm.

CUT CATEGORY: - grouping of similar cuts to make searching easier.

MIX: aka Hex Mixes - a glitter that combines more than one hex cut in the same colour.

BLEND: aka Multi-colour - a glitter that combines more than one colour in either hexes, shapes or a some of each.

TRUE MULTI-COLOUR: These blends do not have a dominant colour theme and therefore cannot be put into a colour group

PRIMARY COLOUR: The dominant colour theme presented by the glitter as a whole

COLOUR GROUPS: Grouping of similar colour glitters and colour-dominant blends

EFFECT: The different ways light interacts with the surface of the glitter particle

FINISH: Light's ability to penetrate through the glitter particle

FAMILY: aka the glitter - the name of the glitter without any cut details. DID YOU KNOW: we have more than 330 glitter families available with many more coming soon.

VARIANT: Each of the different cuts a glitter is available in. Some are only available in one variant, and some have more than 15!

HG90+: aka Hydro Glitter 90+ - Our water-biodegradable glitter that is more than 90% plastic-free

HG100: aka Hydro Glitter 100 - our 100% plastic-free, water-biodegradable glitter
